What does a Northlight Longevity membership year actually contain?

Five fixed stages across twelve months: intake and history at week 0 (60 minutes); the diagnostic intensive at weeks 2 to 4 (one day, ten measures in one sitting); findings at week 5 (90 minutes, a written plan); quarterly reviews in months 4, 7 and 10 (45 minutes each, a physician selected subset re-measured); and year close at month 12 (90 minutes, the core panel repeated and a written year summary). Stages 00 to 02 are in every tier. Stages 03 and 04 begin at the Continuous tier.

What does it cost?

Accepted Answer

Membership is 6,000 USD a year for Foundation, 12,000 USD a year for Continuous, and 30,000 USD a year for Directed. Payment is annual, in USD, in advance of the diagnostic intensive. Programmes, which are defined pieces of work with a start and an end, run 8,000 to 19,000 USD depending on scope and on how much imaging and testing the work requires. Work performed outside the clinic, such as imaging at a partner facility, is quoted in writing before it is booked and is never marked up.

What is measured, and when?

Ten measures: history and physical examination; blood chemistry and haematology; lipoproteins and apolipoprotein B; fasting glucose and insulin; blood pressure in clinic and ambulatory; cardiopulmonary exercise testing; body composition; sleep assessment where indicated; imaging where clinically indicated; and medication and supplement review. Stage 00 records history and examination, blood pressure and medication review. Stage 01 takes all ten. Stage 02 measures nothing and reviews all ten. Stage 03 re-measures a physician selected subset, typically six. Stage 04 repeats the core panel, nine of the ten, with imaging not repeated as a matter of course. Which measures apply to an individual member is a clinical decision made by their physician and is given to them in writing before the intensive.

Question 4

Is a biological age or longevity score issued?

Accepted Answer

No. The practice does not issue a biological age, a longevity score or any single index for a member's health. Results are read as results, individually, against the member's own earlier measurements. The practice publishes no outcome statistics, uses no patient testimonials or ratings, and uses no before and after imagery.

Question 5

What is deliberately excluded?

Accepted Answer

No supplements, infusions or devices are sold to members, at the clinic or afterwards, and the practice takes no product revenue. No single score, index or biological age is issued. No unsupervised home testing kit is sold as a programme. There is no round the clock concierge service; the practice keeps business hours and says so. There is no automatic renewal: the next year is agreed at stage 04 or the membership lapses. No therapy is offered on the strength of its popularity, and where the evidence behind a test or treatment is thin the physician says so at the time.

Question 6

How does insurance and record ownership work?

The practice is cash pay. It does not bill insurance and does not issue claims; superbills are handled on request. Records belong to the member and are exportable in full at any time, including on leaving. Clinician full names, licences, board certifications and training are sent in writing before a member books, and again in the welcome pack. The practice is not an emergency service.

How does someone start?

Accepted Answer

A 30 minute consultation with a physician from the practice, by telephone or at the clinic. There is no cost and no obligation, and no qualifying call with a salesperson. The practice replies within two business days with times. Referrals are accepted from physicians and from current members but are never required.
